the results released in 2015 from the Survey on Social Attitudes of Singaporeans showed that more Singaporeans were unhappy with their work-life balance.
another survey indicated that 57% of SIngaporean workers said they would give up a chance to earn higher pay for a better work-life balance.
seriously? really?
our paper chase in schools, our chase to achieve targets at work, our chase for materialistic things - these have made us unbalanced. it is easy to say that we want work-life balance, but it is not so easy to let go. earn less and don't go for that nice holiday? don't worry about grades and not have a degree? we can't let go.
perhaps balance can be found when we are happy with what we do, instead of being happy only with what we have achieved.
and let's not forget that there are still many who may not have a choice. for them, they have to work in order to have a life. #bcc
work-life balance is "a concept including proper prioritizing between work (career and ambition) and lifestyle (health, pleasure, leisure, family and spiritual development/meditation). This is related to the idea of lifestyle choice" - wikipedia
